It’s countdown time to the Great British Beer Festival Winter 2018 – back for a second year in historic Norwich (20-24 February 2018).
Thousands of real ale lovers will descend upon The Halls – the medieval friary complex which includes St Andrew’s Hall and Blackfriar’s Hall. From popular light ales to ruby and dark ales, foreign beers and ciders – visitors are in for a treat.
As well as plenty of thirst-quenching brews – visitors can also look forward to some great food and live entertainment.
And Expresso is delighted to have been invited to provide catering for this year’s Great British Beer Festival.
“With experience in catering to the tastes of real ale fans at the October festivals, we will be offering a choice of beer festival favourites including authentic German bratwurst, home-made slow-cooked beef chilli and award-winning pork pies – along with our new spicy Korean-style pork,” explained Expresso director Roland Schreiber.
He said that every effort had been made to accommodate visitors with special dietary requirements too – with options for vegetarians, vegans and those avoiding gluten and dairy.
Organised by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), the Great British Beer Festival will be raising funds for Age UK Norwich.
Following a trade only session – when the coveted Champion Winter Beer of Britain will be announced – the Great British Beer Festival opens with a CAMRA members preview evening from 5.30pm – 10.30pm on Tuesday 20 February. Public sessions are from 12 noon until 10.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (21 – 24 February).
The live entertainment line up includes rock, pop and alternative bands from across the county. Banks due to take to the stage include Sam Coe and the Long Shadows, The Collective, The Shackleton Trio and The Vagabond.
Advance tickets cost £14 and include a souvenir glass and £7-worth of beer tokens. Entry for CAMRA members is free on the door. Food sales are cash only!
