Food, food and more food! That’s the standout wedding catering trend for 2017, according to market-leading Brides Magazine.
The UK’s longest established bridal magazine recommends its readers splurge when it comes to wedding day catering – from welcome canapes through to the midnight feast.
Indeed bridal magazines and blogs from around the world have all been busy predicting top trends for 2017 weddings – encompassing bridal fashions, food, flowers, finishing touches and those all-important ‘wow’ factors.
And as Norfolk wedding caterers we welcome Brides Magazine’s advice on party food!
We understand it’s easy to get carried away when it comes to wedding planning and spending, but we believe that good food (and plentiful drink!) is at the heart of every good party. After all, if you expect your guests to make the effort then surely you should reciprocate!
SHARING IS CARING
Needless to say, good food doesn’t have to mean fancy food. In our experience as wedding caterers, Norfolk couples are increasingly opting for informal dining – in particular sharing feasts with guests helping themselves to platters passed around the table.
Sociable and interactive, a sharing feast menu can be tailored to suit all tastes with a mix and match of hot and cold dishes.
Then why not continue the sharing theme through to dessert? DIY eaton mess is always popular (think bowls laden with fresh strawberries, meringue and whipped cream). Or why not serve your wedding cake with bowls of fresh berries and cream?
Grazing stations and street food are tipped as big 2017 influences too – everything from champagne and oyster bars though to doughnut deli walls and live late-night cooking stations.
Whether you opt for a traditional celebration or opt for something more individual our advice as experienced wedding caterers is to feed and water your guests well!
And while you might consider cutting back on some elements of your wedding spending, it’s our view that guests won’t judge you – unless they leave hungry!
